Setup an Automatic Payment PayPal Subscription
- This guide shows you how to set up an automatic PayPal subscription for your Ultra.cc service.
- This is intended for clients who previously used another payment method and now want to use PayPal for automatic recurring payments.
- A PayPal subscription is a pre-approved payment agreement between you and PayPal. After it is created, future invoices for the related service can be paid automatically through PayPal.
Before you begin
- Make sure you are logged in to your Client Area.
- Make sure your service has an unpaid invoice that is not overdue.
- Make sure you do not already have an active PayPal subscription for the same service.
- If you recently changed, upgraded, downgraded, cancelled, or replaced a service, review your PayPal automatic payments and cancel any subscription you no longer need.
- If you are unsure whether you already have an active PayPal subscription, check your PayPal automatic payments before continuing.
- You can manage or cancel automatic payments in PayPal using PayPal’s official guide here.
Set up the PayPal subscription
- Log in to your Client Area.
- Click on View All next to Unpaid Invoices.
- On the next screen, click on the red Unpaid button.
- Then click on the PayPal Subscribe button at the top right of the page.
- On the next screen, you will get Subscribe and PayPal Checkout buttons.
- Subscribe - Set up a pre-approved payment subscription to automatically pay your invoices.
- PayPal Checkout - A one-time payment of the invoice in question.
- If you selected PayPal Checkout, you will be greeted with the PayPal login screen.
- Enter your credentials there and make the payment as usual.
- This pays the current invoice only. It does not create a PayPal subscription.
- If you selected Subscribe, you will be prompted to enter your payment details.
- Fill in the form with your card and other details. Then, proceed to make payment as usual, and your subscription has been added.
- Future invoices for that service should then be paid automatically through the PayPal subscription, as long as the subscription remains active and valid.
Duplicate payments and overpayments
- If more than one PayPal subscription is active for the same service, PayPal may send more than one payment. This can cause duplicate payments or overpayments.
- Duplicate payments, overpayments, and forgotten recurring payments are handled according to the Ultra.cc Terms of Service.
- If you believe a duplicate payment or overpayment occurred, open a support ticket from your Client Area and include as much payment information as possible, such as:
- Invoice number
- PayPal transaction ID
- PayPal email address
- Payment amount
- Payment date and time
